Jeanie's continuing adventure.....
Hi!!!
So I think I finally have a routine here now....and every day is sunny and beige (everything here just looks beige - don't know why....maybe the desert?). I know I feel +30 is normal and +24 cool in the evenings....I no longer feel the layer of sand and dirt on my skin 24 hours a day is a distraction but a comfort:) And the smell from our Rockets (the affectionately named portapotties all over the camp) is almost bearable.
The worst part of the rocket by product smell is that there are 3 of them just outside of the sports pad where we do our fitness classes .... and every 10 minutes or so during a class .... no matter what time of day you're teaching .... you get this waft coming from that direction. MMMMMM that's some quality air:).
Most mornings I'm up by 5am for unit PT or a class or just because I'm used to that time now .... sick I know. And then we teach until 6 or 7 at night again ... but our midday's are getting quiet now that we've organized a bunch of the leagues and clubs and so we can go play some beach volleyball or workout. The days really aren't that bad actually .... long but paced well.
I'm usually in bed by 9 at night .... keeps me out of trouble.:) It's nice having an international camp .... there were a few VERY hot slovenian guys here for awhile but they're gone now as they were part of roto 3. That's been about the highlight men wise in case any of my female counterparts are curious.:)
We had our first tourney this weekend and played beach vball .... our team came 2nd to the Hungarians .... damn eastern europeans ... we should've made them do a drug test or something after:) Our team was Bob and the gym rats (bob is the welfare manager - or CFPSA top dog on camp). Considering we didn't practice we did pretty well .... and now we've been challenged by a
couple other units on camp for some games ... I say Bring it! :)
Our next tourney is Ball Hockey of which I won't be playing .... I need my body to be in working order in able to be allowed to stay here for my job:)
The food is still good .... I don't know if I'll really complain until they break out the ration packs closer to camp closure ... but I've actually heard the rations aren't that bad! As for Kandahar...it looks like we may get to go down there ... V. excited!!!! but no guarantees yet. Wait until I actually email you from there to believe it.:)
I thought I'd write a quick note after my BOSU and Strength class (some things just never change right Monica?:) ). Now its shower time!
And in case anyone is wondering .... Angus is doing great in Duncan with his new half brother Buddy. Apparently I might have to get another dog to convince him to move back in with me when I get home:)
Miss you all and hope all is well!!!! I know I keep saying I'll send pics .... I've actually taken some but don't have the memory stick here with them on it. Next time:)
