Jeanie got waxed

"holiday"

Hi Everyone!

I'm on my way to Thailand finally! I didn't want to leave the camp but was basically told that no one can opt out of their holidays so here I go:).

The move to KAF (Kandahar) has been great. I actually got waxed the other day on the camp ... this is roughing it american style. Of course it was by a russian women named Elena who had man hands and spoke no english, but she got the job done:)

The tour so far has been amazing for me which is probably why I didn't want to leave right now. I've been emailing stories of Nat (one of the other fit staff) and Lane (our equipment guy) and the 2 are like brothers to me now and they leave 3 days after I get back to KAF so I was a little sad about missing out on 3 weeks with them. The laugh meter has stayed relatively high working with them in KAF even though our tempo is a little slow right now.

Its a lot of programming and trial by error for timings and events because we don't have a gym of our own right now and are kind of working out of the american gym (which is incredible by the way). Nat even has me doing weights again, and I hate him.

For Thailand I don't have a lot planned ... the week of yoga I'm so excited for. The bike tour unfortunately got cancelled so I will have to find some othe fun things to do. I think the last half of my trip will be spent in Phuket so let me know if you want anything:).

I have to admit I miss having a glass of good red wine (or white, really not fussy at this point) and just relaxing so that might by the focus of my trip. I've asked Nat to program a ton of stuff for me the day after I get back to KAF so I get back in fast and then get through my last 6 weeks.

I am definately heading out to Fredericton almost right after I go back (via Ottawa) so that will be another adventure. And yes, now its not only Tammy, but there is a boy involved:)

The highlights of KAF are that it is like a small town. There is a pizza hut and burger king trailer, subway, green beans coffee...and the PX of course. But for the Canadians we have a big weather haven tent set up with an awesome patio and connected to our welfare phones and computer trailers and its called Canada House. We have two levels in it actually with a small movie room upstairs and sports/news downstairs both on the big screen tv's and Tim Horton's coffee brewing 24/7 (we make it ourselves but man it tastes good).

I think I actually miss Canada House all ready as Nat and I have been using my laptop for a computer and calling ourselves a mobile unit...we operate mostly by sitting on top of the big freezer in Canada House. Its not the best office, but at least we're really visible:)

I will try and keep sending Thailand stories and when I get back to KAF pics. We had the most incredible thunderstorm there last night ... v. cool! and v. loud. I was staying up all night anyway so now I'm very tired as its 4pm ... I had to take another herc ride with stupid tacticals (but I kept everything down this time:) ) and I need a nap.

Peace out:) !

Jeanie xo
