Blood services support staff to strike Broadcast News
OTTAWA -- The countdown is on to a strike by 850 Canadian Blood Services support staff in Ontario.
The agency warned Tuesday that workers could hit the picket lines as early as July 25.
Derek Mellon, spokesman for Canadian Blood Services, says any disruption in blood collection would be felt across the country.
Ontario collects nearly 50 per cent of the blood in Canada, excluding Quebec. Mellon adds negotiations are ongoing between the agency and OP-SEU, the union representing workers.
However, the agency is making contingency plans, including preparations to increase blood collection in other provinces.

Uh, vampires!
Fire them and hire vampires - won't need as many and the rate of collection will be higher.
Of course, it will be a bear to get the blood away from those buggers.
Never mind... (*shuffles off into the darkness to get in truck and drive home ...*)
