Jeanie's move #1

Hi everyone!
Today we are packing up our gym stuff....like the heavy stuff (incline leg press, hack squat etc etc etc) and our office....today will be a fun day.:) Luckily we have a work party to help with the gym. I swear by the time I'm done this roto I will be able to get a job with a moving company.

Last night was the coolest experience. Lane, Nat, Glenda and myself were invited to one of the out-dets in Kabul. They are called Op Argus and help the government sort themselves out basically. They have a gym there so we went to check out the equipment and then stay for dinner and drinks. They live in a house and they are close to one of the embassy houses so then we went over there to see their gym and bar. Had a wine by the outdoor firepit.... Hung out with the Cdn Ambassador to Afghanistan for awhile...v. funny guy actually. He was the same one who gave us our medals a few weeks ago. Ahhh, lifestyles of the not so rich or famous...It was weird to just drive in Kabul in an armoured SUV instead of a mini tank. The drive there was crazy...there are no lanes it seems and we just have the right of way no matter what's going on. But regardless, the city is still just a city. We were actually invited to stay overnight there and it was so hard to leave because for just a few hours everything was normal...real plates and cutlery (all we have on camp is paper and plastic....seriously that is it)

The pics are Lane and I at dinner, Nat in the back of the armoured SUV and Lane and Nat in the backyard of one of the residences.

That's all I have for now. Because we are losing our office we are all sharing one computer and desk so I will not have as much access to email as before until I'm down in KAF. Also my email there will change slightly for all of you...so if you email me I only have this one until the 10th of Nov. I will email you all from KAF once I get ther so you have my new address...It will be a small change...like instead of haining.jl maybe it will just be haining.j.....we'll see:)

miss you all!

If you were a poor Indian with no weapons, and a bunch of conquistadors came
up to you and asked where the gold was, I don't think it would be a good
idea to say, "I swallowed it. So sue me." - Deep Thoughts by Jack
