MONTREAL - Prime Minister Paul Martin says he has full confidence in Finance Minister Ralph Goodale and will not ask him to step aside pending the results of an RCMP investigation into leaks from his department.

"I have the advantage of knowing Ralph Goodale very well," Mr. Martin said during a campaign stop in Montreal yesterday. "He is a good and he is an honest man. He is a person of the greatest integrity and he will not be stepping down."
